Something to live for

Have just missed a plum pick and offered a day's clemency. Looking forward to other things: read the TCS red herring prospectus, have decided to put most of my eggs here; have decided to above all seriously commence work on a dream writeup that has been languishing for some time:

Keeping Hindi out of the South
Why English must be dominant second language and Hindi consciously excluded to preserve distinct Dravidian identity and balance manic pervasiveness from mainstream Hindi-dominated media

yes i'm a bigot and after considerably more research this piece is coming out by 2nd August. This article is going to silence all buts and ifs. You'll hear it out

It's great to have none of the readers of my blog supply comments to my entries. It's so warming. This way I know exactly what's running through their minds: nothing.

Who said only the rich make academic endowments?

And guess what?  Thats what this entry is about. In my offloading drive, today's moves mean I am well halfway through having disposed of my room's unwanted literature. All hope of registering any monetary gain from the move was understood as misplaced when every bookden from ulsoor to avenue said 'no - we don't do it'. the little spitballs. as i speak they ferment in froth in their dens as encyclopedia-size worms work their way through their stockpiles, having first bound the victims to their chairs.
Anyway- the point is that I put a few of the books into a box and tuk-tukked to the alma-mate(r), went to the lab and hoping to have it acknowledged looked about arms akimbo proprietarily at allastruggle and  was asked to wait - which no person with even pretensions to dignity should have done. I was half-noble at the end of it. And that much less ...

Beady-eyed vermin discovers shop

The situation is fluid and the undercurrents are turbulent and I can't swim. That's just to say anything can happen at any moment. Over the weekend, I had the luxury of home to myself and shacked in the fridge for long periods. This state of waste meant I kept no prior beer appointments and developed a relapse of lung disease. Read an unexpectedly gripping essay on 'women and space in a Renaissance Italian city' and still greeding on the tome on art history. next stop should be the one on the architecture of south india. But on Sunday suddenly something happened. I ventured out with beady eyes, took bus 119, got off at the Indian Express where I was splashed with mud and where i caught 13B that took me to this stop (the one right after mudra; the ford showroom/before joseph's?). I dont know what the name of the shop is but it's right there and it's just right. no one badgering you physically or metaphysically and great kathakalli music in the background - very withdrawn and my secret.

Brando

Being a penurious, forgettable copywriter in what is not an agnecy, I gave the overpaid, undersexed developers in the tech-centric outfit, a taste of Brando by multi-casting them the following office IP:
"Never confuse the size of your paycheck with the size of your talent"
-Marlon Brando
Thank you.

Angry it had to be Sharapova

Ok- did i make it some place peaceful to catch wimbledon? No i didnt. Every club i called up in my slipping city was booked. And when i did hire a tv at the last minute, it didn't carry the channels that decided to shew wimbledon in the first place. What makes it worse is that Sharapova won. And whats wrong with that? It was racially improper that the lumpen media lauded her as the 'lovely'- just because she fell into the mould of the north eurpoean ideal. and what is serena to the same frat? 'strong'. So Sharapova - I hope it's all downhill from here or the sisters dig out victory from vengeance like no one ever expected. Yes - and for ages to come. Amen.
And on a very private note - after months of scrimping and saving on the new job, i wiped out all my savings, in writing out a cheque to my sister to clear a long-standing due, that i later found she had completely no clue about. This means I walk around in tattered clothes and shoes for another 4 months and forget about the nifty pc i was considering for some time.
Take hope all indigents - for there is me - finny.

wa wa Wimbledon

Just today morning while approaching my office from the quiet residential back road, i encountered the regular trinity of dogs loping around in the middle of the rue, looking sleepy, sheepish and defensive. But the black dog was up to something different and wasn't concerened with the approach of scruffs like me. And as i passed by this is what backdog was doing: it was smelling a yellow flower at the end of a solitary sprig on the tarmac - and it was so overcome by the poetry of the moment it was incontinent.
Well what do you think of that?
And Wimbledon? I must catch the last few matches, but there isnt a telev at home and now i've been thinking of scrambling to pondicherry toNIGHT. i'll have to run run run.
can it be dun?
