Saketh Rajan, Naxalite, killed in Chikmagalur
Hard to see that how the police gunning of Saketh could be justified and as we see it, no one's offering an explanation. A Naxalite and a fine bangalorean, his removal was strategic above all. Not a word of defensive firing, not a hint of suspected presence of arms. Saketh took his BA(Journalism) from Maharaja's College, Mysore and his PG from IIMC, Delhi. He had also written what is arguably the best and certainly the most accessible books on the history of Karnataka: Making History. He masterminded the spread of the Naxalite movment to Malnad after a keen study of extant socio-economic conditions of plantation workers in the Kudremukh National Park area. The Governement had evicted and continues to evict tribals from Kudremukh National Park while giving not just right of way but an open license to MNCs and intl. drug houses. The Special Task Force had been deployed to cauterize the movement. Saketh was killed.
